North Texas Giving Day is 18 hours, 6 am to midnight, ONE DAY, Sept. 17, to give online where dollars are multiplied and nonprofits like us are eligible to win prizes to increase our funding. These funds help us to make critical repairs to the homes of low-income seniors in need in Denton County allowing them to live with dignity in a home that is safe and comfortable. Our board of directors has included a special challenge to donate $1,000 for every $5,000 in donations made on Giving Day. Help us reach this challenge with a donation of any size. Simply go to http://www.northtexasgivingday.org/#npo/hearts-for-homes.

Here are a few comments from current donors about why they give to Hearts for Homes:

“My husband and I are proud to support H4H, and here’s why:  Hearts for Homes is not a ministry about good ideas, H4H is a ministry about GOD ideas.  When we contribute to this ministry we know that our time and money are being invested in the Kingdom to do God’s work.  Godly people doing Godly work.  It’s a privilege to participate in that!”

Denece Gerlach

“It is our privilege to support a ministry that captures the true essence of the Father’s heart and represents His love in such a tangible way .  We believe this ministry is a true reflection of the kind of ministry Jesus did when he walked the earth.  ‘Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.'”  James 1: 27

“I am delighted to be a supporter of Susan and Hearts for Homes. Becoming a widow at age 49 thrust me into a new phase of my life. I had first hand experience of watching a house seemingly crumble around me, paying top dollar for inadequate repairmen, only to have something else not work. God answered my prayers and made provision for me. 1 Timothy 5:5 says “The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.” Hearts for Homes is God’s help. It is the church. I am blessed to offer my meager financial support with the hopes that another widow will receive her answers to prayer. May God continue to use this ministry as His heart and hands on earth!”

Here are some comments from Homeowners who have benefitted from Hearts for Homes donations:

What a wonderful, caring, compassionate and much needed organization! With my husband in a nursing home for over a year, and no family here, I’d truly be homeless without their help. My roof was leaking so bad that a huge part of the living room ceiling finally caved in. Devastation! I searched the Internet for help and The Lord led me to Hearts for Homes. A wonderful crew, filled with love and compassion came and replaced my roof AND my ceilings!! No words can express my appreciation. God bless you all!!

To everyone involved with the repairs of Tommie Jo Garrett’s house, I would like to take this time to thank you. Our entire family is grateful for all the work that has turned her house into a wonderful home. Hearts for Homes, thank you for creating such a great organization.

Sheila Alexander (niece of Tommie Jo Garrett)

It’s nice to know that there are still people who take pleasure in doing special things making others feel good while giving of themselves unselfishly and finding time to do nice things no one else would think of doing.

I want to tell you how much I appreciate everything and thank you. It made my day when it all came together. I appreciate all the things that you do for me around here.
